Another day in paradise....beautiful, temperate Rwanda
Rich: A registered nurse, a US Marine Corps veteran and a very large white man by anyone’s standard, is a familiar figure on the streets of Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. He is a very visible reminder of the God he serves. He has preached the Gospel, organized outdoor crusades using film and provided weekly medical clinics for the many street boys of Rwanda. His sense of humor is legendary. When a local shopkeeper, in a land that has seen starvation first hand, commented admiringly, “You are very fat,” Rich was amused, but when the woman asked, “Is your wife fat, also?” he could hardly contain himself as he answered, “Yes, she is fat, very fat.”

Robin: A caring advocate for women bound by abuse, drugs and alcohol here in the states, took her compassion and energy to Rwanda to investigate ways to help African women. Phoenix Home was opened in 2008 to provide housing, vocational and personal training, as well as spiritual guidance for homeless women and children. African Bagel Company was launched in 2008 to provide employment for these women. Robin has built many relationships as she teaches the Bible, prays with and counsels needy women. One very special moment was when she awarded a Bible study certificate of completion to an older woman who she later learned, could not read, but had faithfully partnered with another student to study her lesson every week.
Corey: Has completed the Foursquare Ignite college discipleship, education and training program with an emphasis on missions.
John, Kristin & Aprille: Continue their high school education at Rift Valley Academy in Kenya during the school year and join their parents on vacation.
