Outreach Ministry
The evangelical outreaches have been wonderful! We give all the glory to God for the financial assistance we have received with a grant which has enabled us to purchase equipment. We are able to go out to share the Gospel 3 weekends a month. We have also been able to advertise more which creates awareness and draws more people to hear the message. This grant matches funds that are donated, making this all possible.
We are grateful for the finances as well as the team of ministers who truly allow the Holy Spirit to work through them.
In 2009, over 35,000 people have heard the Good News and over 13,000 have received Christ into their hearts! Because of your donations and prayers, Tent Makers of Rwanda has been able to offer hope to the hopeless.
Ministry to the Street Kids
The kids keep coming and we keep ministering. What a blessing and joy it is for us to be able to minister to them on Mondays--they are always so happy to see us and never complain about the long lines while waiting to be seen.
Weekly we see all kinds of physical problems from wounds, earaches, flu, vision, and dental problems. We have been dealing with a great deal of eye issues recently and find it difficult to find just the right treatments.
When some of the children come in with teeth or gum issues, we will give them a toothbrush and show them how to use it properly. As soon as they leave with their new toothbrushes and all the other little boys see them, we very quickly have a line of little boys who have teeth problems! They just all want a toothbrush!
More than anything, these boys are seeking the things they need the most –love and affection. While we love to do what we can to take care of their physical needs, we know that the love of God is working through us to touch these young lives. Sometimes all it takes is a vitamin, a smile and a hug; and we see an instant healing!
The Phoenix Home Ministry
We are so excited about the progress that has been made with the “formerly homeless” children and mothers. Mama Clementine, an abandoned mom with 8 children, is now able to help care for her family after being trained in the art of making earrings. We have also been able to train 2 other moms both in making earrings and bagels while another has been trained in animal husbandry. Presently we are working with 5 women and 20 children while we have others who are in desperate need of shelter and food.
Our desire is to buy a ministry facility which would include a larger transitional home and training center which would allow us to serve more women and their children.
The training facility would allow us to provide the women with vocational skills, financial management, counseling, spiritual guidance, and other areas needed for survival. The children are then able to enroll in schools while being raised in a “home” environment.
What a blessing to see these lives transformed before our very eyes!
